Development Challenges

Learning HTML & CSS Fundamentals

As a beginner web development student, understanding the basics of HTML structure and CSS styling was challenging. Learning to write semantic markup, understanding the box model, and grasping how CSS selectors work required significant practice and trial-and-error experimentation.

Layout and Positioning

Creating a visually appealing layout using only HTML and CSS was particularly difficult. Understanding how to position elements, work with floats, and create responsive designs without modern tools like Flexbox or Grid required learning traditional CSS layout techniques that were more complex and less intuitive.

Cross-Browser Compatibility

Ensuring the website worked consistently across different browsers was a major challenge. Learning to write CSS that rendered properly in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome required understanding browser-specific quirks and implementing workarounds for older browser versions that were still commonly used at the time.
